Pop culture and porn both are hugely responsible for shaping public perception of what constitutes physical attractiveness. As much as I like to think you cannot lead me by the nose that easily, and no matter how well Sean Connery or Patrick Stewart has aged, that doesn't mean I want to watch them fuck.

The "bear" image permits guys who are outside the norm of what is often considered physically and sexually attractive to stake their claim to hotness and desirability. To me, a bear is a guy who doesn't know when to put the fork down. I figure I'm gonna get hammered for saying that. But look at the guys who star in Bear Boners, or the other models on their associated website, BearFilms.com. Almost to a man, they are middle-aged or older, they are not especially attractive and they are fat. If you want to argue, take their heights and weights (which the website provides) and plug them in to a formula for body mass index. Few are less than obese.

Personal druthers aside, there's still an audience that wants to see love among the bruins and Bear Boners offers five two-man scenes of just that. Dirk Grizzly and Chase Woofer challenge the bedsprings in the opening sortie. Dirk, who has initial hardon problems himself, gets double-fucked with Chase's cock and a butt plug. Chase cums first then eats his partner's spunk.

In a scene from the vault, Ric Kasino and Daddy's Boy conflate bear with leather in a scene that involves a paddle and a sling. Daddy's Boy, who is also a bottom boy, is a dude who could set off a metal detector from 10 feet away. He never clearly gets hard, though he appears to cum.

Jackson River and Phil Daniels add nothing new to the porn massage scenario. Jackson helps himself to Phil's package while getting his back rubbed and Phil responds by getting naked and submissive. Jackson sucks, rims and fucks him but Phil never gets hard, even while getting sucked, until mustering a semi-hardon for his cumshot.

The shower scenario comes next, with Cliff Douglas and Clint Taylor helping to dry each other off then hitting the bedroom. Rimming, fingering and gentle fisting provide foreplay for the fucking, with Clint topping. This is the best of the five scenes, with good chemistry, hardons and energetic action.

Jeremy Matthews and Hartt Frisco bring Bear Boners to a close with a make-out session in bed, reciprocal blow jobs and Jeremy fucking Hartt.

Kissing and cuddling are staples of bear films, and there are ample amounts of both here. As a person whose age and BMI almost qualify him to be a bear, I can accommodate the gray hair and the avoirdupois to some extent, but in this age of Viagra, there's no excuse for these bears not to have boners. Bear Boners by its nature will have a built-in audience, but the film does little to reach out to a wider viewership.
